You and I both know that’s an irresponsible statement drop the police. We need to have a more clear-cut job responsibility for what they can and what they can’t do clearly defined. That would work

It won't unfortunately. Never in the history of US police reform has a civilian oversight board been able to be effective. Critical resistance has good information about why. Police Unions and labor law make things even more difficult in this instance

They should talk to MSP first...and watch the video of Bob Kroll bragging about how he gets around it. Our review board went away. It needs sopenea power and a few other things to be a success.

This is great, as long as every position of power, whether government or people-run, has adequate checks and balances. Every single system relies on checks and balances by the public to be truly just on an ongoing basis.

Itit likely wont. We have one in Chicago the Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA) and while it helped bring “justice” in the Laquan McDonald case, it doesnt stop the murders but rather increases the likliehood of punishment.
