The top marginal tax rate in the 1950s and 1960s was around 91%. And also happened to be quite a prosperous time economically, for good reason. Ultimately Capitalism is the issue, but taxing the rich is a good start.

But it was still a capitalist society back then. There was simply a thriving middle class because of the tax rates.

In terms of "social consensus", not just the one about corporate responsibility, but on broader issues, I feel that the more diverse a society is, the more difficult it would be to reach any consensus.

Marianne Williamson needs to stop talking like this. She makes way too much sense in what she says. I give her credit for her efforts. Too bad those who should listen & learn are such fools. Also, these same fools happen to be the leadership of this country both red & blue.
