My father died 25 years ago today. So many times over the last 4 years I've been glad he wasn't here to see what's happening in this country; it would have broken his heart. But if he was here he'd be fighting like hell, saying "Don't let the bastards get you down!"

Can relate to your thoughts. My father would not have enjoyed lock downs here in UK, with threat of this virus, and not being able to play golf. Although I also know he would not have wanted to leave when he did either. They are here with us. Always.

I'll never forget my WWII vet father hanging a giant McGovern banner across our front porch in 1972. It didn't win him the Mr. Popularity award that year. He used to express the same type of sentiment -- maybe a few extra expletives.

My dad is also gone. Though it brings me unspeakable grief, it also brings me a relief that he didn’t have to experience a plague and witness this atrocity. I agree with you. Like U2 said, don’t let the bastards grind you down. #Resistance

My dad died 31 years ago today. Drinking and driving after a Halloween party. 😳 stay safe out there. ÷÷÷÷÷ While the Earth burns we argue about who is wrong, who is right, whose fault and who'll take the blame. youtube.com/ToOlH77xFiE

May his memory be a blessing. יהי זכרו ברוך. Powerful and touching tribute.
I'm sure he's rooting for you and all of us from Heaven.
