What Chevron did to people in Ecuador & to those who helped them is a level of disregard huge corporate conglomerates display in various ways everywhere. Health Ins/Big Pharma/Big Oil/etc; few escape the effects of their greed & stopping them anywhere helps stop them everywhere.

Health insurance and big Pharma are why they don’t have health care; big oil and chemical companies are why their food, air and water are toxic; massive tax cuts & subsidies to all of those companies is why they are economically squeezed.

Not inherently. It’s an unfettered virulent strain of capitalism that was loosed on us in the 1980s with trickle down economics, positing that a corporation’s only responsibility is to stockholders & no other stakeholders, w/ no ethical or moral responsibility to earth or people.
