I wish someone could explain to me why police in other countries de-escalate situations nonviolently in so many instances where police in the U.S. are more likely to shoot to kill. We talk about “better police training” but nothing seems to change...

(I corrected a deleted tweet. Thank you for the advice from so many. One veteran wrote of how police training started changing in the 90s. Please re-post. I know I should’ve left the other one up. Just learning…)

After eons of evolution and progress in so many valuable areas of life, not only do we still have yet to learn how to live together in Peace, but we still have yet to learn how to stop killing each other. The solution lies in Transformation of our egos, from fear to Love❤️😷

We have an illness in our society at the root. From the criminals to the police to you & I. In discourse we've lost the art of communication. You know people just want to be seen, heard & valued. If not, we will act out.

Maybe don’t charge at officers with a knife in your hand? Maybe that might de-escalate the situation?? Just maybe??? People have completely lost their minds. Not everything is this utopia where strong words do all the fixing

Probably second amendment. Everyone has a gun in America. Bobby's don't even carry guns in the UK. Bet Yemen has some pretty nasty police encounters too.

A lot of cops have all of that great firearms training and then they carry a gun around for years and never get to shoot anybody.

@b_wilderson put it pretty clearly: “police brutality, just like the mutilation of black bodies in cinema, is absolutely necessary for the mental, psychological, the unconscious coherence for the rest of the world.”

It's an overused expression but very true. "It's not a bug, it's a feature." The position of police is used to intimidate and weaken any enemy of the establishment. Remember occupy Wall Street? It was police who Wall Street sent to rough people up.

"shoot" is the key word. America has a gun problem as a precursor to all the other problems.

Police officers are paid well because they "face danger". Appropriate, they often do. 2 cops carrying billy clubs and guns should be able to disarm a man with a knife and/or deescalate the situation But these 2 were afraid to be near the man and shot him dead out of cowardice.

Ya think that had something to do with politicians not doing their jobs..
