I wish someone could explain to me why police in other countries de-escalate situations nonviolently in so many instances where police in the U.S. are more likely to shoot to kill. We talk about “better police training” but nothing seems to change...

(I corrected a deleted tweet. Thank you for the advice from so many. One veteran wrote of how police training started changing in the 90s. Please re-post. I know I should’ve left the other one up. Just learning…)

Increased legislation to control behavior, and less respect for property rights. That, along with the increased militarization of the police alongside the drug war.

They need to stop being trained to be "warriors" by ex-military.

Yes ... many people just accept the status quo ... and when they do that ... nothing happens ... Change isn't easy ... it's a process ... you put one foot in front of the other ... make lots of mistakes ... learn from them ... and eventually ... you get there!

We have society built on winning and losing and it permeates almost everywhere in our society. The police think they must "win," no matter what. The people they pursue think, with a fair amount evidence confirming it, that they already "lost," so zero Fs left. No winning here

I hope you are being facetious. The Police in America began as Slave Patrols. Poor whites were deputized and allowed to@commit violence against enslaved blacks in a classic divide and conquer scene. Police violence is by design

I think what you guys on the far left really want is for them to pull out their phone and call a social worker while they are being hacked to death. only then will there not be riots, and maybe parties in celebration of the event. you people are sick puppies!
