When I was a child my father used to say we didn’t have to worry about anything too terrible happening because we had a reasonable Supreme Court. Now, we need to worry that no matter what wonderful thing we make happen the Supreme Court might try to smack it down.

40 years of capitalism without a conscience, neoliberal global policies & Rupert Murdoch has ushered in this era. Time for a total rethink of all the systems.

Don’t worry, they’ll only smack it down if it’s unconstitutional and luckily there’s a way to amend the constitution if everyone thinks something’s so wonderful.

Ruth (riddled with cancer) needed to retire in the Obama years so she could be replaced by a like-minded.justice by Obama. But NO! She made it about her and fucked everything up to the point where we are now under Trump. This residue will last for decades.

Term limits for the court. 12 or 18 years perhaps. Retro active. Term limits for senate and house too. And an opposition party that actually fights against the Republicans as hard as they fought against Bernie Sanders.

There are 9 justices because there were 9 lower circuits when the number was established in 1869 and each justice was assigned to a circuit. Now there are 13 circuits. We need 13 justices.

The Supreme Court is now a powerful tool that stands against the emergence of voices demanding that our common purpose is to improve the lives of ppl and the planet. It will now side with money & power seeking to leverage profit & dominance

I never worried about politics or the courts until 2016. I always figured that no matter who was running things, they'd always act in our best interest. Now? Forget it. I will be so glad when this sh@tshow is over.
