It’s an odd psychology that makes people resist giving $1000/mo to hard-working citizens to buy what they need, yet be OK with billions/yr given as subsidies to industries already making huge profits destroying the planet so that a tiny group of people can buy whatever they want.

I was really excited when you got into politics. I thought, she will get it and be willing to stand up to corruption, no matter which party. Boy was I wrong.

It can’t be given unless it’s taken first. Why do we assume that only government is capable of addressing poverty? There are myriad private charitable and religious groups who can serve that function as well as, and maybe even better than, government.
