It’s an odd psychology that makes people resist giving $1000/mo to hard-working citizens to buy what they need, yet be OK with billions/yr given as subsidies to industries already making huge profits destroying the planet so that a tiny group of people can buy whatever they want.

Yes, Biden needed to make the point Thursday that, “Hey, does a massive (oil) industry that’s been around for 120 years really need subsidies anymore?” They should be self sufficient by now! It’s the fledgling new tech of the future that needs support...

Choose your own propaganda ✨ 1. Trickle Down Economics! Surely the 1% won't hoard wealth! They're not greedy! 2. The American Dream! You too will be rich one day! Don't hurt your imaginary future! Work Harder! Meanwhile, policy makers take bribes over helping the people.

Yes. Giving money to businesses that cone from taxes paid by workers. The cycle seems to be... in order to have food, clothing, shelter and education via "money" to live and health insurance your life is tethered to a business that is given that power.

It's because most full time jobs only pay $1000 a month, extreme poverty is their only leverage to make people run their businesses for them.

Don’t understand why they won’t just give the money to the people who have to spend it right away. It would “trickle” up immediately anyways.

I’m not completely against UBI yet but I’m skeptical that it’ll turn a majority of ‘hard working’ citizens into lazy asses, societal dead weight, a small % will use their minds to create, until they realize their creations won’t be rewarded as they’d be ‘state owned’. Dystopian

It's feeding the monster who has manipulated you for most of your life to believe that your existence depends on it.

Capitalism, while far from perfect, is still infinitely better than socialism & communism. Hard-working people should be able to get free healthcare, AS LONG AS THEY DON'T ABUSE THE SYSTEM. Billionaires' main fear is opening a Pandora's Box of trouble & causing overpopulation.

Its that calvinist "toil is virtue- if you're not constantly working and stacking bills, you're a leach" mentality that is so deeply ingrained in this culture. They think people who have more deserve more, and those who have nothing deserve nothing. Meritocracy.
