UBI doesn’t just give someone enough money to live: it removes enough anxiety that she can breathe, be present for her family, go about creating the life she most wants for herself & participating as a citizen in the life of the nation. It’s a moral as well as economic imperative

A UBI could be combined with a rebuilding investment to transform America. “The election of FDR as President in 1932 unleashed a host of programs aimed at stemming the depression cycle and building the nation’s infrastructure.” fws.gov/uploadedFiles/Depres…

So who pays for this? We all do. I have no interest in paying the way for someone else. She is NOT my wife and I owe her nothing.

The devil will be in the details. Won't it? The right has been trying since Milton Friedman to give everyone a base pay so they can delete successful programs. So give a senior $1000/mth ubi and delete SS. Where do you land? Better to start w/ a Job Guarantee.
