UBI doesn’t just give someone enough money to live: it removes enough anxiety that she can breathe, be present for her family, go about creating the life she most wants for herself & participating as a citizen in the life of the nation. It’s a moral as well as economic imperative

May be for her, it removes anxiety, but for him it removes his sense of self worth. For a man, there is nothing more satisfying than being able to put food on the table for the family... as opposed to receive government handouts

Some people don't like UBI because they think people won't work--but it is financially impossible to function if everyone stopped working. UBI actually will create jobs, and people will have more choices in both kind of work and location of work and living.

If I thought it would make society better in the long run I would support it. I just think reliance on the Government for your needs will backfire .

Agreed. But how do we convince the pull-yourself-up-by-your-bootstraps crowd of this? Many out there still believe that life in general is not a right, that it must be earned. It's the age-old Nature v. Nurture argument.

Life is difficult .. .College is difficult ... keeping your kids focused is difficult ... maintaining the relationships of spouses, friends, teachers and co-workers can be difficult ... but add to that ... struggling to pay for Healthcare and rent ... and now it's OVERWHELMING!

COMPLETE THE SENTENCE: If you're okay with a handful of billionaires pocketing a trillion dollars in a pandemic, but find the idea of a $3K UBI outrageous...

Since I found @AndrewYang in February ‘19, I’ve been a proponent of UBI. The freedom dividend as Yang calls it. We need to reimagine what it means to be an American. Thank you @marwilliamson for supporting it.
