What basis do the police have for removing PPE that people are handing out at a polling site? What are they shutting down next? Lemonade stands?
On the first day of early voting in Red Hook, @NYPD76Pct officers confronted community activists handing out PPE in front of an early polling site & then seized it. This is unacceptable, the NYPD must issue clear guidelines & not escalate situations at the polls.

Why else would they take it unless it belonged to the government?
They confiscated it because it belonged to either the government or a business from which it was stolen. Cops don't go around stealing people's masks. Thats ridiculous and just another opportunity you folks pounce on to try and demonize the police. Get the backstory.

You seriously don’t pay attention at all. Cops have been harrassing kids and shutting down lemonade stands for years. No wonder you’re always in shock. It happens when your head is in the dirt.

And they, themselves, are wearing masks! Two more weeks to go🤦🏼

This is crazy. Giving away ppe is a good thing so of course some cops want to ruin it. Smh.

More reason as to why Mayor Bill (who 1st ran on a Tale of 2 Cities), had 76PCT take PPE from Red Hook Volunteers. As long as they are not wearing clothes identifying DNP/RNP or voter intimidation; they should have been left alone. Mayor Dinkins wouldn't stand for this nonsense.

Probably organized by tRump but police get blamed. Shame on police for doing this. What a shame. How is this a legal thing for them to take masks away. What city did this happen in?
