Beyond the noise there are simple truths. One believes climate change is an existential threat while the other one denies it’s happening; one admits there is systemic racism while the other one demonizes protests for racial justice; one is a decent man while the other one is not.

One believes that people are still dying from Covid. The other believers it’s just going away or that people are learning to live with it - whatever pops into his head. One is all in for LGBT rights. The other is putting someone on the court who is vocally & actively anti.
