1/ Having had surgery, I now get frequent phone messages from CVS telling me when a prescription needs to be refilled and asking if I would like them to call my doctor to refill it. Why? Because they want to make a sale of course.

2/ Imagine what it would be like – since obviously we have the technological ability - if every citizen got a phone message not only reminding us to vote but asking if we need any help in getting registered (some do, but imagine if it were true of everyone).

3/ Now imagine if no one even needed to get registered because voter registration automatically occurred on your 18th birthday (we should go to 17). They do it in other countries & we could do it here. Those are things that happen when your government actually wants you to vote!

Please excuse my ignorance but have we had an opportunity to vote on this? If not, we need to make it happen. Time for me to educate myself on this.

VA took a great step in the right direction in that when someone conducts business at the DMV, they automatically are opted-in for the voter registration process and would have to manually opt-out.

But what do we do about our car's warranty?

The republican party would cease to exist.

And imagine if everything could work like that, if your most important connection to your government didn't exist in file cabinets but in an object accessible and useful no matter which state you live in and free of cost. There's plenty of hope for solutions like this!

You cant buy a beer until your 21 so if your not responsible enough to purchase alcohol then how can you be responsible enough to vote on the fate of a nation.
