1/ Having had surgery, I now get frequent phone messages from CVS telling me when a prescription needs to be refilled and asking if I would like them to call my doctor to refill it. Why? Because they want to make a sale of course.

2/ Imagine what it would be like – since obviously we have the technological ability - if every citizen got a phone message not only reminding us to vote but asking if we need any help in getting registered (some do, but imagine if it were true of everyone).

3/ Now imagine if no one even needed to get registered because voter registration automatically occurred on your 18th birthday (we should go to 17). They do it in other countries & we could do it here. Those are things that happen when your government actually wants you to vote!

If you need a reminder to vote you probably shouldn’t vote anyway

Yes ... That would be cool!

Yes but prescription analogy not a good one. How about when they say you need an oil change or dentist for teeth cleaning. Pharmacy reminder could save your life

I’d probably block it. Here’s a better idea, let people vote by phone. Take advantage of the technology at your fingertips rather than fearing it, adapt with the times. Do you want everyone to vote? Make it as easy as possible, and get all the states on the same page.

It’s here Marianne, right now, but I can only text folks who text me first. I’m up to 8.6 million users today; and I’m protecting 360,000 people from having their registrations dropped from the rolls, and their ballots rejected. resist.bot/news/2020/10/21/e…

I agree that we have the technological ability and should use it for the greater good. But the fact that Americans are so dependent on handholding for their own civic responsibility....is what I find extremely disturbing.
