Marianne are you confusing commerce and trade with capitalism again? You do realize that commerce and trade existed long before capitalism?
I’m not anti-capitalist; I think the most enlightened society has aspects of capitalism & socialism. But we’ve drifted into a virulent strain of capitalism, with no ethical or moral responsibility to people or planet. It will correct that, or a generation will storm the Bastille.

I'm curious firstly about what you think capitalism's structure is that allows such a terrible strain to occur? Is that not evidence enough that the idea itself is useless to us as this point in history?

You even admit that it's failed so spectacularly that collapse is nearly inevitable. The people who profit the most from the system have lied about everything from its accomplishments to its structure, what is left of the concept that you must defend?
