I’m not anti-capitalist; I think the most enlightened society has aspects of capitalism & socialism. But we’ve drifted into a virulent strain of capitalism, with no ethical or moral responsibility to people or planet. It will correct that, or a generation will storm the Bastille.

the problem with what sweden and other countries like them do is that it still relies on the exploitation of the global south. ideally, that is a transition period before global socialism is achieved.

The “balance” that you see in Sweden comes from the continual struggle of labor against capital. It’s not like you just pick the ideal amount of capitalism and plan a society around it

Don't confuse being better than America with not being shitty. Workers are still exploited and corporations are still earning millions and billions. People in Sweden have healthcare and the standard of living is better than in America. But that's a low bar. We need to do better.
