I’m not anti-capitalist; I think the most enlightened society has aspects of capitalism & socialism. But we’ve drifted into a virulent strain of capitalism, with no ethical or moral responsibility to people or planet. It will correct that, or a generation will storm the Bastille.

Is this meant to be Karl Marx for Dummies? French Revolution? End stage of capitalism? Sounds similar to Das Kapital... except for the massive mixup that capitalism and socialism are some sort of balancing act.

If by “virulent strain” you mean cronyism, I think most people would agree, but turning to failed policies like socialism again and again hoping that it will finally work this time is not likely to solve any problems and will inevitably create far more inequality and unrest

I refer to it as consumption based capitalism. It's useful. But overconsumption-caste based capitalism is more accurate.
