I’m not anti-capitalist; I think the most enlightened society has aspects of capitalism & socialism. But we’ve drifted into a virulent strain of capitalism, with no ethical or moral responsibility to people or planet. It will correct that, or a generation will storm the Bastille.

There's nothing inherently enlightened about Capitalism. Why should the working class be giving up any power to the ruling class?

There's nothing kind or enlightened abt leaving the working class to eternally struggle for freedom but never rly get it. Leaving a ruling class in place may help protect the privileges u enjoy but they always take the first opportunity to return us to the dark ages and fascism.

We need human centered capitalism

Capitalism wants profit while socialism wants publicly owned means of production. I admit that the Nordic countries that have socialist safety nets are inherently better than unregulated capitalism but I can’t deny that as long as a CEO wants profit, worker’s rights are trumped

You can’t “fix” a systems intended features

Nordic countries are social democracies with robust capitalist sectors held in check by a robust socialist governmental economic framework that ensures people thrive via public higher education, unions & high wages. Marianne, please watch this video. youtube.com/A9UmdY0E8hU

That "drifting" is the corruption inherent in a system that is designed to centralize wealth.

At it's essence capitalism is anti-democratic as such distribution of income always concentrates with the only ones who can make decisions the CEOs/Bosses & boards of directors themselves owning most of the shares of corporations. If we're for democracy it should be at work too

anyways I appreciate that you're trying to focus on justice and solutions. The system can't and won't "correct" itself anymore than your car can fix itself. Capitalism & duopoly political power is a circular self preserving system.

"Socialism means the abolition of classes." - Lenin What, then, does "aspects of capitalism & socialism" mean? Scandinavian welfare policies are not socialism. Socialism isn't some arbitrary buzzword. Either class exists (and by extension, exploitation) exists, or it does not.
