I’m not anti-capitalist; I think the most enlightened society has aspects of capitalism & socialism. But we’ve drifted into a virulent strain of capitalism, with no ethical or moral responsibility to people or planet. It will correct that, or a generation will storm the Bastille.

But what we’re seeing, all that bad stuff you mentioned, is capitalism running its course. It’s not a strain, that’s just what capitalism does—it creates homelessness, AND livable homes that stay empty. There’s no nice capitalism. If a capitalism is nice, it’s not capitalism.

But capitalism requires the existence of an exploited class. The extreme inequality yisn't a bug, it's a feature that has been implemented on the colonized world for centuries. This isn't broken capitalism, it's fully realized capitalism.

it's a question of whether we think workers deserve autonomy. capitalism and socialism being "mixed" is just reformed capitalism. you can't have socialism but also wage slaves submitting their lives to private dictatorships. workers deserve autonomy.

I disagree that there is an acceptable form of Capitalism. Virulent is its natural state unless chained down like the wild beast it is by the shackles of regulation that it pulls and bites at and howls loudly against.
