How can you preach the virtues of capitalism to people who don’t have any capital? It takes capital to be a capitalist. I totally understand why so many young people are saying “What the hell has global capitalism ever done for me?”

With all it’s defects under crony capitalism there’s still opportunity for an individual to create wealth from nothing though I admit it’s no easy task but this isn’t a solution to poverty by any means.

Would you rather be young and poor or old and rich?

Looks like it's done a lot for you and pretty much every other politician. If you all had a charity that you ran & raised money for, you could talk about giving to others. But few do, looking down on us, trying to spend other people's money to give to other people

One of the best UBI pitches. 👍. This pandemic tells us that our society can still function even though only half of the US population is working. If your work is not essential, how do define your purpose of life!

To me capitalism is a system where you buy and sell goods for money. You get paid a wage for your labor. At its best you try to produce/sell things that meet people's needs and you get compensated for that. In a free market place buyers and sellers have power.

Everyone who buys or trades something is a capitalist....unless they’re a seller protected from competition or who is coercing people to take their stuff even if people don’t want it.

It's hard to extol the benefits of something when you know nothing about it. Doesn't seem to stop you from doing the opposite though.
