1/ One way or the other, the United States is going to need a season of repair. We won’t be able to gloss over the damage that has been done, not just by this presidency but by decades of the misuse of our democracy.

2/ We’re going to have to dig deep & make some changes in ourselves as well as changes in our government. It won’t be quick & it won’t all be easy, but on the other side of it there will be a glorious chapter in the history of this country most people wouldn’t even think possible

This presidency is the culmination of the decades of misuse you speak of.

The repair is well underway at the individual level. Many of us have been forced to look at ourselves and don’t like what we see. Others will follow. People are waking up and following their dreams rather than following paths that other people chose for them.

Democracy isn’t a switch flipped on or off by election. It’s hard work using moral and ethical thinking on behalf of the betterment of all people. #yesrising what’s possible...

Your forecast of being in a position to act against fascism is overly optimistic. The enemies of democracy have already "put the fix in", & hold the power to implement it. I see an effort on the scale of the American Revolution as the minimum required to reverse our course.

That season does not arrive with Joe. Rather, the season we get is continued destruction under a more polite guise.

To do that, we have to first acknowledge and address that "misuse" and stop pretending that it all started with Trump. That won't happen with the current crop of politicians.

I actually like that phrasing. A season of repair.
