you can't be a leftist and be patriotic about an imperialist white-supremacist settler-colonial country.
1/ Of all the things the left surrendered to the right over the last 40 years, patriotism and morality are the two that have hurt us the most.

Yes you can. You can be a student of history enough to know that America has been a lot of things, and not just that. To know it’s our job to fix what’s wrong, to atone for what’s wrong, not just bitch and complain and criticize what’s wrong.

as a student of history there is no time since its "creation" that it wasn't what I described. if we delude ourselves on what this country is and has always been we can never "fix it".

Not true. Hundreds of thousands of people have given up their lives to course correct this country. They deserve more than our just whining on Twitter. We’re not the first generation to see what’s wrong and to try to fix it.

would u consider the slave revolts and indigenous resistance a form of u.s. patriotism? movements that *actually* challenged the material conditions under a whitesupremacist capitalist state were not n exercise n course correction but n attempt 2 dismantle a system of oppression
You've had four years to figure out why Trump won and you still don't get it. 16 years of endless Clinton-Bush-Obama-Biden wars and bleeding the country dry.
sorry im not going to be waving the death star flag until its blown up
