Uh, slavery was allowed. Slaves were considered 3/5 of a human being. And women could not vote. Yes, the Constitution DOES change over time!

Amy Coney Barrett on originalism: "That means that I interpret the Constitution as a law... I understand it to have the meaning that it had at the time people ratified it. That meaning doesn't change over time and it's not up to me to update it or infuse my policy views into it."

The legislative branch changes the constitution. The judicial branch interprets it. Why is this so hard for you, Marianne?

Two-plus dozen amendments bear witness to that...

How about: 18 year term limits for Justices. A President can nominate only 2 Justices during a 4 year Presidential term. Confirmation of a Justice by the Senate requires 3/4 of Senators to approve.

It changes through ammendments not through judicial decisions. If you want something changed get a law passed. That is what happened with both of those.

Changes didn鈥檛 come because a judge just decided to change it they changed the law through the legitimate process!

But did it change because ammendments were passed, so the law changed.

It changes with amendments passed by the legislative branch, which are then considered part of the constitution... She would then interpret the amendments as they are written by the legislature at that time. Not too difficult of a concept.
