Uh, slavery was allowed. Slaves were considered 3/5 of a human being. And women could not vote. Yes, the Constitution DOES change over time!

Amy Coney Barrett on originalism: "That means that I interpret the Constitution as a law... I understand it to have the meaning that it had at the time people ratified it. That meaning doesn't change over time and it's not up to me to update it or infuse my policy views into it."

How far does she want to go? Before Europeans started coming and the land belonged to Native Americans? I just wonder about her religious beliefs, back to the Inquisition? She said "Founding Fathers" right? Because nothing has changed since then, absolutely nothing.

Remind me what Supreme Court decisions made these changes to the Constitution.

The fact that the media has always pretended that there's any legitimacy to this "originalism" crap, just tells you that we're doomed. I child can see through that

See the amendments to the Constitution. This is the only legal way to change Constitution.

♦ Women voted in colonial America. Lydia Chapin Taft was the first at Uxbridge, Mass. 1756. ♦ Constitution ratified 1788 ♦ 3/5 of a human being in America was a demand of the North - not the Southern States because the number of slaves would give the South a majority.

Native Americans were unable to vote either yet Trump junior is out stumping for their vote in Arizona. Meanwhile Trump wants an originalist on the Supreme Court. Can Junior please tell them so while he's out stumping??
Replying to @marwilliamson
That's why you can amend it okay

She doesn't like all that stuff.
Replying to @marwilliamson
They are called amendments... Sweetie. Judges do not add amendments, there is a legislative process that does that.
Replying to @marwilliamson
That is where the AMENDMENTS come into play. Do better.
