Economic injustice and an overriding sense of purposelessness and meaninglessness created by an insanely consumer-based society and its tendency to make tens of millions of human lives expendable are the underlying causes of most mental health issues in the United States.

Neoliberalism at its best! Developing countries with shopping malls instead of more forests. Investing in military industry instead of peace corps. Pharmaceutical companies first instead of healing from within with the help of the natural resources!

True. Earlier today I was going to tweet about how something as simple as the UBI would shift the mental health of America. We are collectively not wise enough to understand that or it would happen. What once worked no longer works in the tech age, but we are failing to shift.
