1/ Having to work three jobs to make ends meet and having little kids on the other end of the line crying “Mommy when are you going to come home?” all the time becomes a mental health issue.

2/ Knowing it will take you years to pay off a college loan that you only took out so that you could educate yourself for your dream career but now you can’t pursue your dream career because it probably won’t pay you enough to pay off those debts, becomes a mental health issue.

3/ Working as hard as you possibly can but knowing there’s no way you’re going to be able to make enough to send your kids to college, and worrying it that every single day, becomes a mental health issue.

4/ We shouldn’t let Congress pass some proclamation on Monday celebrating Mental Health Day yet refusing to acknowledge all their policies that are complicit in creating gargantuan amounts of chronic despair. Human despair is the greatest underlying mental health issue of all.

You are not one of us struggling and it really comes off as condescending when you try to act like you are. You make more money from a one hour lecture than some people make in a year. it’s better to be quiet and thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Having a partner to also provide income to take care of children would certainly alleviate that issue. The amount of single parent households is an epidemic in the US. Either teach people to be less shitty selfish partners or teach them how to not pick shitty people as partners
