Monday is Mental Health Day. An important issue to remember is that any government which leaves tens of millions of people living with chronic economic desperation and anxiety is itself a primary generator of mental health issues.

The beauty of our system is that you don’t have to live in abject poverty if you make the right decisions in your day to day life, *and* if you have screwed up, you can change course and reclaim your American dream. The system you’re proposing just equalizes poverty for all.

I still love you. You've worked yourself into a hellish corner, but you still want to press on. God bless you. I assume you'll be needing it.

Yes I’ve always been on board but remember it’s treating a symptom & not a cause. If all we do is focus on that the forces of injustice will then say “Ok so now we get to lower taxes for the top earners.” We have to do more than compensate for injustice; we have to create justice

One of my coworkers attempted suicide at work because of the sense of helplessness underlying everything in this pandemic, we all need to recognize that incompetence in government has consequences that effect all of us.

I agree. If we look at the impact on #mentalhealth we might actually be making significantly different decisions. The economy is not just fat cats, it is people’s jobs and ipso facto- their lives and livelihoods.
