Actually, if we had a valid, functional gov we would not have to be political. We could just get on with our lives unmolested.
1/ For years I heard people say things like “I’m not political” & that illusion contributed to what’s happening now. In fact everything is political: the quality of the air you breathe, toxins in food, safety of cars and airplanes, whether or not you have healthcare and fair pay.

No, that’s the illusion. In a representative democracy the people must remain vigilant. In a country meant to be governed by its people, the people cannot afford to give up their power even to their own elected representatives. They work for us and not the other way around.
