1/ For years I heard people say things like “I’m not political” & that illusion contributed to what’s happening now. In fact everything is political: the quality of the air you breathe, toxins in food, safety of cars and airplanes, whether or not you have healthcare and fair pay.

2/ Many blame others for perpetrating madness they wouldn’t have been able to perpetrate if more of us had been awake politically. Too many people remaining apolitical enabled the emergence of a “political class.” And how’d did they do? Look around you.

3/ Too many people were distracted, but no more: a political awakening is at hand. We can’t see all the results yet but on the level of cause a political volcano is brewing, a realignment of our hearts with our highest ideals. See beyond the darkness and straight into the light.

4/ It’s not where we are that ultimately matters so much as where we’re going. The waters we’re in right now are turbulent, but on the other side of this there’s a calm and pristine bay of societal potential. Every moment we spend imagining it is a moment we help bring it forth.

I'm glad you're speaking a bit more on the tweet you responded to about fear of things going back to "normal" after a Biden win. Many folks' frustration comes from Trump being blamed for many injustices that were plaguing our society well before he stepped in. There is no normal.
