Not sure about lowering the age, but I just don’t understand why we are not automatically registered on our 18th birthday
The entire voter registration phenomenon is unnecessary; every American citizen should just be automatically registered on their 18th birthday (and we should lower the voting age).

Because the system has an institutional resistance to giving that much power to that many people.
