The entire voter registration phenomenon is unnecessary; every American citizen should just be automatically registered on their 18th birthday (and we should lower the voting age).

Why lower the voting age?

Replying to @JakeTheHuman28
16 and 17-year-olds have a lot more at stake in our environmental, gun, educational policies etc then do those of us who are older. They should have a say in the policies that affect those critical areas of their lives .

That’s what their parents are for. Kids that young (I have 5 boys) have poor impulse control, are more susceptible to emotion driven decision making & much more easily manipulated by the MSM & social media peer pressure. They have enough to worry about. Leave it to adults.

Have you ever met a 16 year old? Serious question

Also, it would turn Junior & Senior year of highschool into a hot bed of politics much like freshman year of college is for many ppl.
A 14 year old has more at stake with that argument. 16 and 17 yr olds “shouldn’t have guns” though right? So how are they supposed to vote on things they have no experience with? Are we changing the age of adulthood to 16? Can they join the military?
I would make an argument for teens not being mature enough but #boomers sank that ship.

How do you feel about direct democracy?
Exactly, I'm 17 right now and I'm furious that I didn't get to vote in the primary or the general elections. I'm just a few months too young right now.

And they pay taxes. That's not everything, but it's something.
