The entire voter registration phenomenon is unnecessary; every American citizen should just be automatically registered on their 18th birthday (and we should lower the voting age).

Agreed, but you shouldn’t be allowed to vote over 75 years old. My parents politicians and it’s time for them to understand they are stuck in 1985

100% agreed. You should not need to go through loopholes to access a civil liberty.

In Singapore, this is the case. Everyone's put on the electoral register at 21. Voting is compulsory and well managed, with voting stations spread across all population centres - typically within five mins walk from where you live. Takes max five mins to vote.

If someone can't consent, they don't have full agency, nor do they have the cognitive ability to consider long term consequences for not just them but everyone else whom their vote affects. Please have some form of logical consistency

I never understood this push to lower the voting age. 18 is young enough.

I do agree. I am from Sweden and I have never had to register to vote. My right to vote took effect when I turned 18. What’s the point if registering??

Why should we lower the voting age? Peoples brains aren’t even fully developed til they’re 25. I’ve raised a lot of kids - they might be smart but even at 18 they’re not really adults. Letting them vote younger seems like a trick to be able to draft them younger. Not buying it.

That's exactly what Bernie Sanders has already said. MANY times.
