No other country in the world is having the kinds of public events we’re having. Every business except the campaign business – and I do mean “business” - are discovering how much can be done on zoom. These debates are dangerous and unnecessary. We only see them on screen anyway!

Yes ... it's all so stupid ... I've been in virtual meetings using Zoom ... and I've had moments when I felt like I was actually in the same room as the other person!

The media wants to continue the spectacle because it pushes their ratings and sells advertising time. It is the same reason that they don't want to tackle the campaign finance problem because political advertising makes them massive amounts of money.

Debates on zoom are a great idea. Not only does it allow for safe distancing it has another bonus feature moderators will love: A mute button!

I feel that you are correct Marianne that in-person events are dangerous right now. Covid19 started about this time last year, it may have mutated + "flu season" + dry air/raspy throats + stress = recipe for possible illness.
