One of the reasons we’re where we are is cuz so many of us psychologically disengaged from the political process, figuring “they” would handle it - whoever our particular “they” were. “They” are overwhelmed & now each of us needs to be involved over the next month #ProtectTheVote

Just the opposite is true. It's the belief that you can go once every 4 year to make a cross on some paper doing "something important", and then you can just do nothing for other 4 years. Politics is overrated.

Some of us, Marianne, do not have the luxury of your wealth that enables your dedicated engagement and sometimes finger wagging at us for not giving more has the effect of driving us away. 🤔

That combined with a growing lack of integrity in politics.

Thank you for always being a voice of reason and calm observation.

I psychologically disengaged because I realized that voting isn't going to fix any of our problems. I have no faith in anyone in power doing anything to make the lives of poor & middle class any better. If you're not rich, they do not care about you. This should be obvious.

We were raised to believe the elites were competent and had our best interests at heart for the most part & all we should do is "get ahead" in life. Work hard, study, save, and you'll do better every year. That was all a lie.

Much has to do with the disengagement from our fellow humans caused by the government takeover of the "charity" function through welfare programs.

So much anxiety around factors out of our control. Patience and nutritional balance are going to be how we maintain well-being over the next few months
