This is part of a systemic neglect of the needs of America’s children. It’s not just sad; it is a fundamental injustice. Unless a child has the good fortune of having been born to well-to-do parents – & the vast majority of them are not – then their material needs are underserved
Call me a radical lefty, but I can’t accept a system that spends $115,000,000,000 a year on police but forces 94% of public school teachers to spend their own money on school supplies.

We pay an extraordinary amount of taxes for our local schools. Extraordinary. Where is all that money going?? That is my concern. The local government takes it in like a black hole. Did you should have plenty leftover for supplies and more.
