This is part of a systemic neglect of the needs of America’s children. It’s not just sad; it is a fundamental injustice. Unless a child has the good fortune of having been born to well-to-do parents – & the vast majority of them are not – then their material needs are underserved
Call me a radical lefty, but I can’t accept a system that spends $115,000,000,000 a year on police but forces 94% of public school teachers to spend their own money on school supplies.

I am fed up with how our children are being neglected and I have not done enough to super them. I pray for the strength and courage necessary to make the biggest difference possible to assist them.

Our world is upside down ... our priorities are all wrong! (Robert Reich is amazing ... I love the way he can present an idea.)

Its so sad. When I was a kid in the 80s I always heard politicians say that children were our greatest assests. WTF happened?

This is not new. This was the case with teachers I knew, during the Clinton administration.

As a teacher it’s kind of frustrating that this gets thrown out every 4 years, and yet no real change comes. Our kids deserve better than that.

You have always been a leader in holding our system accountable to this. Everything you stand for is true!
