It’s a really good idea to read up on American history right now. It’s deeply empowering to know where we’ve been, in order to have a deeper understanding of where we are and what we need to do going forward. Each of us has to take it on ourselves to be leaders in a new era now.

Knowledge of US history will open your eyes to how much the left has destroyed individual liberties and continues to do so.

This is a good read if you want to know where you are and to where you are heading.. Dear news media, stop covering the US as if it’s a democracy open.thecorrespondent.com/69…

She's right about this. I suggest Howard Zinn's Peoples' Histories if you are looking for a progressive perspective. Otherwise, one of the best generalists in the field is David McCullough tho everyone has his or her favorites.

Sir Howard Zinn, Charles C. Mann, Eric Hobsbawm. Great words @marwilliamson and as I'm sure you are aware there are different versions of history. Follow your heart and you will know what is real.

When I grew up we had an overdose of civics/American hx. What I find is a desperate need for Americans to incorporate world hx. Americans are incredibly n infamously ignorant of world history as as well as geography. Not a fan of American education.
