When this nightmare is over we’ll need to guarantee 3 things to make sure it never happens again: that 1) every American child learn civics, 2) every citizen has enough economic opportunity to thrive, and 3) we take the money out of politics and return government to the people.

I agree with all those aims, but I think number 3 has zero chance with either the current occupant or a DNC loyalist in the White House.

Specially with the SCOTUS being what it is, we’re not going to be able to overturn Citizens United anytime soon. We need to work towards a constitutional amendment to create public funding for federal campaigns. That work is bigger than either party or any one election.

This is an interesting approach but doesn't it have the potential for candidates that can't generate "free" media (much as Trump did during the Republican primaries) at a potentially even bigger disadvantage? Possibly leading to celebrity rule?
