So strange how many people resist someone telling them that they deserve more, particularly given that the money is from taxes that they themselves paid. People have been brainwashed to expect - even to want, in some perverse way - less rather than more from their government.

That’s why Dennis Kucinich used to say we’re already paying for Medicare For All, we’re just not getting the service. Of course they branded him a fringe lunatic. 20 years later they do the same to you. Nothing ever changes. #ihatetheDNC

American #Capitalism has only ever been a system of organized, sustained gaslighting, trauma, & robbery. For some people, the carrot is just as terrifying as the stick.

Glad to see you're writing we should want and demand more. But the government's ability to pay is not limited by tax receipts. The funding provided for the banking system and financial sectors shows that. Public money should benefit people, not corporations.

I was flabbergasted all day reading about how deadly brain worms in the tap water is fine and people are complaining too much and we just need to boil the tap water like other inferior countries. Lol would they pay me to shit on them? I wonder

The corporate indoctrination hand is strong. It has literally turned this country against itself.

Should we not first expect better of ourselves and our people before we expect better of our government? Wouldn't starting incrementally build to sweeping changes?

Even if you disagree with the concept of a large government we should want more from our gov. Like more transparency, and more accountability. It's not a bad thing to demand more from our gov when what we want more of is less bureaucracy and less red tape. Well said Marianne.
