I too was once a high school student in Houston. We should lower the voting age to 17, possibly to 16. Public policies will affect them for a lot longer than they will affect us. And at this point the kids are smarter.

No! 16 year old kids don鈥檛 pay taxes yet, they need to grow up, get jobs, pay taxes to be able to make an informed decision. At 16 all they see is free stuff they don鈥檛 realize its not really free its from taxpayers!! Bad idea!

I think every citizen should get a vote, period. Yes that includes babies.

Kids are easily brainwashed and manipulated. Unless we change our education system, lying mainstream media, teach kids critical thinking and discernment first, before suggesting lowering voting age. Had our education system taught these skills, we'd have wiser adults too.

Ridiculous. They haven鈥檛 the mental or emotional maturity to rationally make good choices. I know I didn鈥檛.

Prop 18 in CA will do just that, make those who are 17 and will be 18 by the next general election eligible to vote in primaries which we know is where we have the most power.

We know @AyannaPressley agrees! Lower the age to 16. We let people drive at 16 and quit school in many places.

We should raise the voting age to 25 across the board, at least
