I too was once a high school student in Houston. We should lower the voting age to 17, possibly to 16. Public policies will affect them for a lot longer than they will affect us. And at this point the kids are smarter.

Why not 6? Where I live, the left also loves to try and get the age down. Why? Because kids lack experience and believe what you tell them. It's a very ugly approach and it should be discouraged. If at all, voting age should be increased so people bring a fully developed brain.

I didn't like this idea at first because possible interference/influence by parents to their teenagers. It is growing on me because only the mature ones would even bother to vote.

Why not 8? Public polices will affect them even longer.

Same 16 yr olds that eat tide pods, those kids are smarter then you? No wonder you didn't make it far in the political race, then again... IMO you should of stayed with the spiritual world, politics aren't your thing....then again...

Let's make it all or nothing: 16 to legally purchase and use tobacco, alchohol, marijuana and firearms. 16 to consent to sexual conduct. 16 to be tried as an adult. 16 to be held civilly liable for tortuous acts. 16 to be drafted into military service. Sweet 16!

But, they'll most likely vote for socialist programs. This the Democratic establishment can not abide. Sorry kids.
