I too was once a high school student in Houston. We should lower the voting age to 17, possibly to 16. Public policies will affect them for a lot longer than they will affect us. And at this point the kids are smarter.

OMG! 16 year olds are not close to being ready to vote. I know what I was like at 16, I know what my kids were like at 16, and I know what kids today are like at 16. Dems keep pushing it because they think they are impressionable, uninformed, and will vote Democratic. #BadIdea

That is a horrible idea that only a horrible politician with a desire to manipulate children would want.

Of course we should not. People will have 60 years to vote, they will be fine. Until they are considered "adults" then they do not vote.

That is stupid idea people that age are to emotionally unstable to decide how the country is governed. Plus maybe you should look at how states are governed to determine if they are misleading Americans on a false hope in economic affairs.

Maybe they’re smarter than you.

I’m a teacher and this is true. They aren’t manipulated by all of the propaganda. It’s just the issues they care about.
