Amy Barrett being Catholic is a good thing; Joe Biden is a Catholic too. Republicans are trying to make it as though the Left is criticizing her Catholicism but it’s not true. It’s the repressive tenets of the “People of Praise” sect she belongs to that are genuinely concerning.

Her view of women and their place in society as well as some other things is not just a culture of war.

This isn’t about a losing or winning message. The points about me were lies. But tenets of the “People of Peace” as stated by them are anti-Black, anti-LGBTQ and suppressive of the rights of women. Those issues are extremely important in the choice of a Supreme Court justice.

I don’t think her adopting those children is racist or colonizing, but neither do I think economic corporatism is the only issue here. This isn’t just about messaging, it’s about how her viewpoints on women, blacks, LGBTQ, the poor, etc. will influence SCOTUS for decades to come.

All cultural forces work to control and frame people’s views. For example, even atheists have their views framed and formed by the Media they are immersed in. There is precious little original thought.
Andrew Jackson died 9 years before the Republican Party was founded. He was in what was called the Democratic-Republican party, a party which eventually split into the Democrats (Jackson’s wing) and ultimately the Whigs (anti-Jackson)
Workers rights are not the same as human and individual rights.

The more we learn about the natural world, the more we realize that we are far from actually understanding it.
Perhaps, but it also would be unscientific to rule out the possibility of a higher being, or alternate context of reality, due to insufficient knowledge of our natural world.
1/ Sure - fair enough. Anytime you have people that have a platform of mass influence it will be wielded to influence the masses. Not fond of the word ‘control’ in this case as it removes agency, which we need to put our faith in.
