Amy Barrett being Catholic is a good thing; Joe Biden is a Catholic too. Republicans are trying to make it as though the Left is criticizing her Catholicism but it’s not true. It’s the repressive tenets of the “People of Praise” sect she belongs to that are genuinely concerning.

If she's CATHOLIC - doesn't what the POPE says ABOUT TRUMP (and his minions) mean anything?

The sect thing I get. How about attacking her for adopting Haitian children and for being a working mom of a large family? That, to me, is indefensible. Ds complain about Rs going low but have no qualms about going low themselves.

People of praise is a cult. They used to call women in semi-leadership roles “handmaidens” you know, like the show. They changed that recently for some reason

Is the United States not a secular country?

Thing is Republicans are not good faith actors. They'll bend the goal posts at every turn. They probably think Joe is a fake Catholic because he supports abortion. It's their thing.

Being catholic isn't a good or bad thing. It shouldn't make a difference at all in how either of them do their jobs because we have separation of church and state. But with that said Barrett has taken some troubling positions in the past.

Maybe if you're a pedophile and need a job.
