Just as there’s a special criminal category for violent assault that’s an expression of bigotry (hate crime), there should be a special category for violent assault (such as driving car into a crowd of protestors) that’s intended as a direct effort to suppress peaceable assembly.

Did you see the video yet of the white Prius? In a situation like that I honestly don’t know what someone is is supposed to do. Their car was swarmed. Very dangerous situation. Safer for protestors to stick to the sidewalk.

Was the street blocked off by police with signs to a detour? How can a driver know what is ahead of them until they are actually in the midst of it?

Many people are following gps directions that are driving them to those spots. I would have no idea what streets protestors suddenly decided to block off. They aren’t giving notice or pulling permits
