Just as there’s a special criminal category for violent assault that’s an expression of bigotry (hate crime), there should be a special category for violent assault (such as driving car into a crowd of protestors) that’s intended as a direct effort to suppress peaceable assembly.

They have sidewalks to protest peacefully, pedestrians don’t belong on highways. Obstructing traffic is not peaceful. Its tragic but understood why some will get rolled over.

So you think a peaceful protest should just be a bunch of people walking on the sidewalk?

There is no such thing as a hate crime. Murder is murder regardless of the intent behind the crime.

Anybody who doesn’t get up at least once during the night to yell their sense of outrage into the virtualsphere - I don’t know who they are.

Yes. Except that the governor of Florida is attempting to make driving vehicles into protestors LEGAL.  flgov.com/wp-content/uploads…

How would you prove intent vs trying to get somewhere? Doubt that some of these old people or single women are “driving there car into protestors” as much as getting the hell out because they are SCARED!

Its funny how selective your seeing is. The people in cars are terrified of a mob smashing it and trying to drag them out. Is THAT not a hate crime? Its ok if blacks lynch whites now? Is that your truth? What a fraud you are!!!

If they’re intentionally protesting in a road and interdicting traffic, it’s not a peaceable assembly. (That doesn’t mean anyone should run them over just to suppress their unlawful expression. But an important premise of your tweet is mistaken.)
