One of the most broken things about America’s collective psyche is our acquiescence to a systemic neglect of the needs of our children. With no financial or political leverage of their own, they have no way to advocate for themselves. It’s an area where we must begin to step up.

I agree with that. At least to 17. Our policies will affect their lives more than it will affect ours and they should have more of a say.

16 makes sense to me because we license people to drive at that point, literally trusting them with the lives of many other people. If we trust them with a car, and tax them in their jobs, seems we should trust them with a vote.
