“In our system the president’s authority is total. That’s the way it’s gotta be.” No it’s NOT total (we have a president, not a king. And no man, even the president, is above the law) And no it’s NOT the way it’s gotta be because it’s not the way it’s SUPPOSED to be. Civics 101.

No, our system has lots of checks and balances, and people in positions of power have ignored them. It’s unethical people, not the constitution, that’s broken. The constitution has multiple protections against this and they were ignored.

The Constitution is designed to enslave citizens. Why do you think they immediately added the Bill of Rights? Government can only tend one direction.
