Until the 1980s these stock buybacks weren’t even legal. The Reagan era fundamentally gutted the US economy of any moral or ethical constrictions. Their mantra was “Let corporations do whatever they want!” And God help us, too many of them did and they do. cnn.com/2020/09/11/business/…
